[attr="class","hoenn_body"]Hoenn plays host to an incredible range of diverse and colorful Pokémon that have specially adapted themselves to the region's varied ecosystems. As it is with any environment, however, some species of Pokémon are not endemic to Hoenn, ergo they cannot be obtained by conventional methods or means; in such cases, it is almost always required to enlist the help of a Pokémon Breeder or a foreign specialist with similar capabilities.[break][break]

If a Pokémon is not listed under the Hoenn National Pokédex, it cannot be chosen as a Starter Pokémon under any circumstances, nor can it be encountered in the wild at all. Likewise, any Pokémon that is a part of the list appended below are also prohibited from being chosen as a Starter Pokémon and must be discovered when certain conditions have been met beforehand.[break][break]

However, an exception will be made in the event a character originates from a region beyond Hoenn, in which they are permitted to bring one single Pokémon from their home territory's Regional Pokédex to use as a Starter Pokémon, but it cannot be Legendary or Mythical.[break][break]
