[attr="class","hoenn_pillar_rules"]POKÉMON LEAGUE
[attr="class","hoenn_body"] Here on "Quaking Tides", the Pokémon League consists of fourteen separate Gyms instead of the traditional eight, with each one specializing in a single Type of Pokémon and boasting its own unique approach to the challenges provided within.
[break][break]
This being said, Trainers participating in the Pokémon League Challenge are only required to obtain eight Gym Badges for the right to issue a challenge against the region's Elite Four. Likewise, they are permitted to select which Badges they want to win. Earning all fourteen does not yield any special rewards, unfortunately, other than a sense of personal accomplishment.[break][break]
To challenge a Gym Leader to a match, you must post in their respective Gym topic and tag their character's account name.[break][break]
Gym Leaders are given creative liberty to write special rules and regulations for would-be challengers. Such stipulations include the number of Pokémon that are allowed to be used by both combatants, the format in which the Battle takes place (e.g., 3-vs-3), unique field conditions that may help or hinder, or even altering the very nature of the challenge itself; examples include turning the match into a quiz show, or a singing competition. Anything can happen, so be prepared for surprises![break][break]
Trainers and Gym Leaders are only allowed to use one consumable item during the entire challenge, without exceptions. Use it wisely![break][break]
Gym matches automatically have an elevated posting priority and require challengers to treat these encounters accordingly to prevent clogging up the Gym Leader's request queue. Both the Gym Leader and their opponent must respond to one another within 24 hours of each post or they will instantly forfeit the match. Challengers who take too long to return the exchange must start the challenge over and issue a brand new request to try again; on the other hand, Gym Leaders who cannot reply in a timely manner will immediately surrender their respective Gym Badge.[break][break]
Gym Leaders reserve the right to turn down a challenge request within the contexts of the role-play, i.e. if it coincides with their character and there is justifiable reason for them to do so. The Gym Leader's player, on the other hand, cannot refuse another player's requests based on personal grievances or petty opinions, i.e., gatekeeping. If there is any room to suspect this might be happening, we encourage you to direct the issue to the staff team for resolution.[break][break]
The Elite Four must be fought within the same thread in sequence, one after another, with no breaks in-between matches. Like Gym Battles, only one consumable item is allowed per encounter. If the challenger's Pokémon faints, they are disqualified from further participation; ultimately, if all of their Pokémon faint, the challenge is declared lost and must be attempted from the beginning.[break][break]
