tag notes | "Have any luck finding anything, Breadstick?" Felicity asks her beloved Slowpoke companion as the latter gazes blankly at nothing in particular with a big, dopey smile plastered all over his pink face. The Pokémon's tail sat dipped in the surface of Route 102's only pond, presumably out of instinct but mostly because Breadstick's Trainer was under the impression she could acquire a new Water-Type this way.
"Breadstick!" Felicity repeats with emphasis, barely motivating the Slowpoke to lift his head up by a few inches. "Did anything bite down yet?" No response was given back to her. The youngster sighs. "It's gonna take a bajilliondy years at this rate!"
"Sloh." Breadstick yawns, rather enthusiastically, albeit late on the draw as usual. He was always an optimist, even in situations like these.
As if destiny were agreeing with him, a Magikarp flops out of the pond and starts wiggling on the spot with impressive vim and vigor, eliciting a gasp of surprise from Felicity. "Yes! Prepare to get adopted!" she passionately declares before literally jumping after the whiskered fish Pokémon, only to be slapped in the face by its massive tail fin as it jumps out of the way.
Falling backwards onto her rear end, Felicity huffs. "Hey! That's not fair! You're supposed to like hugs!" she jokingly complains, unfazed by the Magikarp's reluctance to embrace her boundless joy while she got back up on her feet and tried again. Thankfully, the teenage Trainer didn't get assaulted a second time, but the floppy fish Pokémon was remarkably agile for being out of water, bouncing around in every direction to avoid being snatched up by the rambunctious girl as she ran circles around herself.
After a few minutes of chasing, her endeavors ultimately proved fruitless, for the Magikarp eventually found its way back into the pond following a couple more exhibitions of its hallmark Splash attack. It may have done nothing in a Pokémon Battle, but the move was super-effective at leaving Felicity mildly upset about being unable to show her affections.
"Aww, that stinks..." Felicity slumps her shoulders, but she doesn't remain miffed for very long. There was always another chance to get a head start on making her dream aquarium, and she was going to make sure it had the biggest, fattest, cutest Magikarp! "Keep fishing, Breadstick! We're bound to succeed eventually, even if it means I gotta wait that much longer!" Felicity's imagination ran wild with humorous visions of herself as a hot-blooded old woman riding around in a rocket-powered wheelchair at breakneck speeds, because why wouldn't she at that age?
"Poke." Breadstick agreed with a contented sigh. Life was good.

tag notes | There was a tense atmosphere, as two pairs of eyes locked onto each other. Brown, narrowed eyes meeting the black slitted eyes opposite. A green blur as Verdant charged at the Meowth, attempting to Tackle the cat, but slightly too slow. Senor Claws seemed to run straight into the attack, before blurring to the side and thwacking Verdant on the back of the head, the green serpents attack being disrupted as he flinched. Senor Claws took his opportunity, Biting down on Verdants tail. He hissed in pain, capitalizing on the contact to sinuosly Wrap his body around the Meowth. Beggining to squeeze, there was little that Senor Claws could do but keep Scratching the Snivy, attempting to break out of the constricting Wrap.
Jeremiah watched the two pokemon spar, taking notes onto a small book. His eyes wandered to the edge of the lake, where Azure was sitting in one spot, spinning in place yet somehow managing to halt all forward momentum. With a burst of speed, the Spheal Rolled Out, her rotund little body rolling along the placid water like a ball down a slope. Not wanting Azure to disturb any of the other trainers nearby, Jeremiah gave a short, sharp whistle, and she started to curve, getting faster and faster as she kept her momentum flowing with the water. Getting to the shore, she hit the edge, launching herself into the air. A serene moment, where she hovered in the air, a small blue moon floating in the daylight sky, before gravity took hold of her and bought to the ground.
A few thumping bounces, and the little ball had rolled over, resting beside Jeremiahs legs. He gave her a quick pat, before looking back to the battle that was taking place. It seemed it had ended, Verdant covered in scratches and bites but victorious, Senor Claws, trussed up, Wrapped in Vines that Verdant had produced to ensare the energetic cat. "Verdant, release. Good job, both of you."
Meanwhile...
Monsieur Whiskers happily floated along the lake. Joyously karping to itself, it basked in the freedom of being able to swim to its hearts content. The sunlight filtered through the pure water, the rays of light reflecting off of his magnificent visage, the golden glows hitting his scales and reflecting, scintillating through the water. The magikarp, however, was not just content with being the most beautiful creature in the river, it wanted others to know it too. It breached the water, Bouncing up into the air like a miniature sun itself, before slamming back down into the river, creating the most impressive Splash it was sure any magikarp had done before. In its state of joy, it was then that he spied it. A delicous pink morsel, dangling into the water. Charging ahead, he continued karping happily to himself, before biting down on the appendage hanging into the water.
It could not wait to fill its belly with this delicious looking meal.

tag notes pls itch butt | It wasn't difficult to please Felicity, not in the slightest. Youthful and always full of energy, anything that caught her interest would keep it for however long she allowed herself to remain fixated before something else grabbed her attention. And she was always on the search for new and exciting things.
That being said, it appeared as if the young Trainer found a herd of wild Shroomish playing in the tall grass and saw an opportunity to become one with the pack. She used her bowl-shaped haircut as a makeshift disguise, slithering across the ground like a hyperactive Ekans to get close enough for an attempt to communicate and make new friends. Whatever works!
Meanwhile, back at the small lake near the path leading into Oldale Town, Breadstick unleashed a mighty yawn from the back of his throat. Fishing was hard work, that much was certain, but the Slowpoke didn't mind the lull in activity. The grass was warm from all the sunlight it was absorbing, and the water felt great on his tail. It was the closest thing to a Pokémon Paradise.
Of course, being incomprehensibly sluggish had its fair share of drawbacks, such as the inability to recognize when a fish Pokémon or something similar was biting down on his back end. In this particular instance, however, Breadstick was truly unaware of how immensely lucky he was, because he was now playing the role of dinner for a very hungry Magikarp, one with scales that glistened and shimmered in radiant gold.
"Sloh." Breadstick rises up on all four paws and begins to waddle—very slowly—away from the edge of the lake, unknowingly dragging the shiny Magikarp behind him as it clamped ferociously around his tail. He wasn't quite certain why, but his butt was itchy for some reason. Maybe his Trainer could take care of that? Having stubby arms made things hard, sometimes.
Filled with determination, the dopey Pokémon meandered his way over to Felicity's location, tapping the youngster on her calf to attract her attention, still ignorant to the incredibly valuable Magikarp dangling from his backside. "Slowpoke." Now his butt was really itchy...
"Huh?" Felicity perks up, her hair suspiciously resembling the physical features of a Shroomish. "Did you need something, Breadstick?" The moment she positioned her body to face the pink Pokémon, her eyes lit up like Christmas lights on Thanksgiving. "BREADSTICK, GOOD JOB! YOU CAUGHT A FISH!!" she screamed with sheer delight—that is, until she caught wind of the Magikarp's unusual coloration.
"Slowpoke?" Breadstick tilted his head out of confusion. What was she talking about? It takes him roughly thirty seconds to turn around and realize the actual source of his itchy rear end, to which he lets out a sigh of remarkable indifference.
Having never seen a Pokémon like this before, even for a Magikarp, Felicity redirects her attentions away from the Shroomish collective to better focus on the unusual aquatic Pokémon. "That's weird. Why does it look like that?" she asked rhetorically, totally oblivious to the fact that it was already owned by somebody else—somebody who, incidentally, happened to be nearby.
Breadstick frowned, still suffering from an itchy butt. "Sloooow..."

tag notes | Pleased with how his two terrestrial pokemon were progressing, it was time to train his water based pokemon a bit. Azure was waiting patiently beside him, while Verdant was curled up asleep, and Senor Whiskers was off to the side, licking its wounds. "Where could he be?"
Glancing around, he couldn't see the telltale glimmer of Monsieur Whiskers scales, nor hear him karping away as normal. Worried, he stood up, picking up Verdant and draping him around his neck. "Luckily, he isn't particularly subtle." He murmured to himself, the corners of his mouth lifting into a fond smile
"Here goes nothing..." He wrapped his hands around his mouth, took a deep breath, and as loud as he could, called out "MONSIEUR WHISKERS, USE BOUNCE." He scanned the sky, hoping to see the telltale glint of his Magikarp flying through the air.
Monsieur Whiskers could not believe it. Truly, one as blessed by the heavens as he should only expect the best to happen to him. Not only did his delicious morsel not flee, it barely even tried to avoid him. He happily gripped onto the tail, before something unexpected happened. The tail started to move. Not to shake him off, oh no. This delicious pink morsel of food started to pull upwards, dragging the poor Magikarp out of the river, and onto the land. Not one to let his prey escape easily, the Magikarp held on, determined to eat his new snack. However, once he was fully on land, he realised something. This wasn't just a small morsel. This was an entire meal! A large pink blob that could only be a feast for kings, a feast for kings like himself!
The meal kept dragging him forwards, towards a group of Shroomish, a a Magikarps natural enemy! Suddenly, a strange looking Breloom stuck its head up, and started talking. Talking! What a day of discoveries this was! It was then that his final discovery would be made, the most important discovery he had ever made. The meal, was actually a SLOWPOKE. As the creature turned to him to look at it with a dopey smile, Monsieur Whiskers opened his mouth in shock, the tail sliding out of his mouth. It was then that he heard a familiar voice. A call to action, one that he was waiting for! He BOUNCED for all he was worth, his body flexing up before slamming back down, propelling him into the air with the grace of a Gardevoir. The sunlight glimmering off his scales, he dazzled those around him, his radiance known to all around him. He slammed back to the ground, narrowly missing the Slowpoke, and flopped around joyously at the attention he was sure he was getting.
"There we go." The bright sparkling ball of fish in the sky caught his attention, and he broke into a jog, making his way towards the location. Verdant still snoozing around his neck, with Azure and Claws following behind him, he came upon a strange sight. What seemed to be a hybrid of a human and a shroomish... a shruman with a herd of Shroomish following it, and a Slowpoke sitting there looking at his magikarp. He glanced warily at the Shruman, before scooping up Monsieur Whiskers, and gently lowering it back into the water. Turning back to the odd sight behind him, a look of vague confusion on is face, he answered the question he had caught as he was jogging over.
"It's a rare mutation that causes discoloring among pokemon sometimes. Some people refer to them affectionately as Shinies." He slowly extended his hand, a bit wary of the strange person crouched in a herd of pokemon. "Jeremiah Richards. A pleasure."

tag notes butt is no longer itchy! | To Felicity's complete astonishment (and Breadstick's comparatively dull amusement) the strange Magikarp detached itself from the latter's fleshy tail and careened all the way into the air, its resplendent scales glittering with an opulent iridescence unlike anything she had ever seen before, as though it were made of pure gold!
"Oooooooh, sparkly~" the lass cooed softly, utterly captivated by the sight she was beholding, joined only by the pack of Shroomish near her. Are they supposed to sparkle like that? Who cares?! That was the prettiest Magikarp she had ever seen, and Breadstick found it! He was a regular dowsing machine, that's for sure!
Just as the glittery fish made contact with the grass, the voice of a young man pulled Felicity out of her trance with a rather informative piece of data. "It's a rare mutation that causes discoloring among Pokémon sometimes. Some people refer to them affectionately as Shinies." Whoa, that sounded like some smart people talk! "Jeremiah Richards. A pleasure." And that sounded like a smart person's name!
In no time flat, Felicity jumps back up to greet the dapper gentleman in glasses, her hair suddenly returning back to its original shape in the process. "Hi! I'm Felicity! That's the neatest Pokémon I've seen in, like, ever!" Exaggerated hyperbole, sure, but it wasn't too far away from the truth of it; the youngster had never heard of anything like a 'shiny' Pokémon, much less seen one. Well, it's as they say: there's a first time for everything!
Feeling understandably left out, Breadstick used every last ounce of effort to stand up on his hinds like a Growlithe desperate for food, a not-so-subtle hint that he wanted to be introduced as well. "Oh!" Felicity scoops the Slowpoke up off the ground and cuddles him like a human infant, much to his placid delight, as he no longer suffered from an itchy rear. "This is Breadstick! I just caught him not too long ago!"
Though it went without saying, the way Felicity's new acquaintance handled the exotic specimen of a Magikarp clearly indicated that he was its proper owner, a fact that would have definitely bothered another Trainer, as it meant they could not capture the Pokémon for themselves.
Incidentally, the presence of Jeremiah's other two Pokémon garnered the youth's fascination with rekindled intensity. His Meowth was a face Felicity could automatically recognize, as her family adopted an entire litter of strays. But the other two, well, those were new discoveries altogether! The little round Pokémon was especially charming, what with its beady little eyes and that perfect smile!
"Omigosh, your Pokémon are so adorable and cute!!" Felicity declares, unable to contain her endless vivacity any more than she already had been. "We have a whole caboodle of Meowths back home, but I don't know what those other two are." It was in this moment that curiosity compelled the young Trainer to ask a rather spontaneous question, leaving virtually no space for interjections, "Hey! Are you from around these parts? Your clothes look pretty expensive, so you must be totally loaded or something!" Today was just proving itself to be a rather productive one, wasn't it?
Breadstick happily yawned as he got comfortable in Felicity's embrace, letting the tender hand of Morpheus gently guide him back to the world of dreams once more. "Slowpoke..." All that fishing sure made him sleepy. A little nap wouldn't hurt.

tag notes | The girl rose up, bouncing up with a distinct lack of class, almost graceless in its speed, but with even that simple motion portraying such enthusiasm and vitality that he could not help but smile. Her hair amusingly popped back into a more natural style, her resemblance to the surrounding Shroomish disappearing in almost comical fashion. He slwoly withdrew his hand, somewhat haltingly, his natural tendecies for formal introductions obviously not being neccessary in this situation.
At her praise Monsieur Whiskers started doing circles in the water, showing himself off even more. His eyes showed his joy at the comment, and he happily karped away to himself at recieving the praise he knew he deserved. After all, he was the neatest pokemon she, and anyone else, had ever seen, and ever would. "As you can probably tell, Monsieur Whiskers is overjoyed to hear you say that. He does love to show off." His eyes caught the movement, and he glanced down, watching the slowpoke begging for attention. His tone serious, he addressed Breadstick, in way that could be seen as courteus respect by some, or as mockery by others. "And a pleasure to meet you too, Breadstick."
He took this moment to examine the girl properly. She was relatively short, though his perspective may have been skewed by his own height, and seemingly younger than him. The, while not quite slobby, homely nature of her outfit, and lack of proper ettiquite, made him doubt that she was even considered to be of the middle class here. She certainly spoke like one of less wealth, with her exaggerations and colloquial way of talking. Though seeing as how Hoenn, compared to where he came from, was much more rural to tie into the 'Natural Paradise' ideal that they seemed to espouse here, he felt he should not have been too surprised.
She was easily distracted by the menagerie around his feet, bouncing from topic to topic. The curiosity and earnestness she displayed, as well as the simple act of care she showed to her own pokemon, showed that she was, very likely, a kind and genuine person. At her words, his arm moved back, three fingers pointing towards Azure and waving her forward. She rolled over to Felicity, a large grin on her face as she looked up towards the trainer. "This is Azure. She is a Spheal, native to Hoenn. As is Senor Claws, though it seems you would have far more understanding of Meowths than I would" He reached up, scratching the head of the Snivy who was draped around his shoulders. His eyes flickered open, its mouth opening to yawn out a quiet "sniiiiv" before going back to sleep. "I brought him with me from home."
He paused to look at her consideringly as she blurted out her next question. It was actually quite an interesting one, though he was of the assumption her question was asked as it came to mind, not as thoughtful of a question as he was taking it. Was he loaded? He certainly came from money, and has the visual wealth to prove it, yet he himself was not. He carried a paltry 700 pokedollars with him right now, and while to some that may have been a lot, to him it was but a drop in the bucket of the wealth he could have accessed at home. Though, therein lay the crux of the matter for him. It was money he could access, not money that was his. He himself had no real independant money to his name, as he had yet to begin actively earning any. The distinction may seem a small one to many, as he still could use the resources, but it was a very important one to him.
He decided to answer the first part of the question first, under the impression that she would latch onto whatever the last interesting thing he said was, and run with that. "My family" he said, putting a small yet meaningful amount of stress on the word, "is considered to be well off. I am from Castelia City from the Unova region. Are you from around here?"

tag notes friendship.exe activated | "This is Azure. She is a Spheal, native to Hoenn. As is Señor Claws, though it seems you would have far more understanding of Meowths than I would." If looks could kill, then Felicity's whole face would have melted off completely from how impossibly charming Azure was. Just look at the way she rolled around like a soccer ball! How could anybody not love something this cute?! "I brought him with me from home." The little green serpent hanging from Jeremiah's neck gives off a tuckered sigh of exhaustion, perfectly mirroring Breadstick's naturally lazy disposition in a way that sent her enthusiasm gleefully tumbling over the edge.
"Aaaahhhh! I can't help it! They're just so precious!" Felicity squeals with utter delight, her petite arms reflexively hugging the Slowpoke as though he were a stuffed doll, to which the pink Pokémon didn't appear mindful of, among many other things that were happening right now. He was just satisfied to be napping somewhere comfortable.
What the exuberant Trainer hadn't anticipated was Jeremiah's pointed explanation for the swanky clothing he wore; even without saying anything, she could recognize the boy's subtle emphasis of the term 'family'. Well off? From the way things looked, Felicity was certain that Jeremiah was practically born holding a wallet stuffed with cash. Did they have a falling out?
But, just as the bespectacled gentleman had predicted, the spastic teenage girl's eyes shot wide upon at the mention of a region she knew nothing about, much less the city Jeremiah claimed to hail from. However, this was the perfect chance to act on spontaneous impulse.
"Unova? Hey, so do I! We go to each other's birthday parties!" Felicity joked, unable to resist the opportunity that fell into her lap, and giggled uncontrollably. Remembering Jeremiah's inquiry, she pointed eastward and proudly said, "I'm from Oldale Town! It's right over there! I can show you around, if you want! We can let our Pokémon play with each other while I give you the grand tour!"
Yet another sudden idea came to surface. "Oh, that reminds me!" Felicity spoke her thoughts aloud, using one of her arms to cradle the Slowpoke while the other reached for her belt line, grabbing two familiar red-and-white orbs and pushing their buttons against each other to expand their sizes. "Everyone, come out!" She happily flings the Poké Balls into the air, and they burst open with a trademark pop and a flash of intense white light.
Two shapes manifest on the ground near Felicity. One appeared to be a little pink powder puff with bulbous green eyes and a splendid curly-cue that hung in front of its face, its body almost identically round and spherical like Azure's. The other was a teeny-weeny little shrimp of a Pokémon by comparison, with a spiky cream-colored head that poked out of an eggshell featuring colorful patterns and an expression of utter innocence all over its face.
"That's Sprinkle, and this is Eggsy! They're new Pokémon, too!" Felicity introduced them in sequence, pointing to the Jigglypuff first, then her Togepi. Both of them chimed in with happy faces and vibrant mannerisms that flawlessly emulated their Trainer in every way, pleased to be included in all the fun they were having. Breadstick the Slowpoke merely snored peacefully, his cute little tongue poking out of his mouth due to the wonderful fantasy he was having about ice cream.

tag notes | He nodded at her assertation that they were precious, completely agreeing, though likely for a different reason. Verdant was a reminder of home for him, and Azure and Claws were the first two pokemon he had caught here. Whiskers was a gift from his parents, the only assistance he had allowed them to give him while he was on his journey. They were all precious to him in their own ways, small bundles of meaning that he cared for, and they him in return. Of course they were precious, as any pokemon should be to their trainer.
He blinked his eyes slowly at the Unova comment, not particularly realising she had made a joke until she was overtaken by the giggles. His hands together behind his back, he waited until the giggling fit had stopped and the girl continued. He was glad, however, that she had found that more interesting than what he had said about his family. Many people did not understand the distinction, and he was loathe to try to explain it to someone he had just met, that had no context about the situation.
He inclined his head when she offered to be a guide, considering it for a few seconds. However, while having a local show you around often led you to places that you would not find yourself, Oldale Town was not his destination at this point. He had to return to Petalburg first, as he had an errand to run there. "A kind offer, Miss Felicity, but one I must decline. I am heading in the opposite direction as of now, though if we are to cross paths at a more fortunate time, I would gladly take you up on a tour of your hometown."
As her pokemon were released, his assessment of her seemed to solidify more. All of her pokemon were objectively adorable. With a fairly simple naming theme as well. His own pokemon, however took a more practical interest. Azure, awestruck at the roundness of the Jigglypuff, gently rolled forward, booping the Jigglypuff before righting herself a small distance back. The most polite greeting a round pokemon could give to another one, in it's own humble opinion.
Senor Claws, on the other hand, walked towards the Togepi, his head cocked curiously as he examined the pointy egg. As a mischevious, playful pokemon, he could instantly tell when he met a kindred soul, tapping the eggshell and bouncing backwards, attempting to instigate a game of tag with it. Jeremiah watched the antics of his pokemon, his face not betraying the amusement he felt at their actions. "I like to think my pokemon good judges of character, and they seem to agree that you have raised fine pokemon."

tag notes --- | "A kind offer, Miss Felicity, but one I must decline. I am heading in the opposite direction as of now, though if we are to cross paths at a more fortunate time, I would gladly take you up on a tour of your hometown." Well, she tried. It was halfway expected, if Felicity had to be honest with herself; not everybody appreciated being corralled from place to place like an errant Tauros, but she was rather fortunate Jeremiah didn't appear to be one of those types who got annoyed with how enthusiastic she was.
"That's about as close to a pinky promise as I'll get, so it's a done deal!" Felicity said with a nod, fully certain that events would conspire to bring the two Trainers back together again. She wasn't used to being called 'Miss', but it made her feel like a proper lady! That was always a plus.
Based on Jeremiah's comments, he must have had plans to visit Petalburg City if he was going the opposite direction of Oldale Town. Though unable to personally guide him to it, Felicity piped up with every intention of being helpful nonetheless, "If you're going to Petalburg City, there's a Pokémon Gym you can visit!" Of course, the young man's bespoke wardrobe caused her to backpedal somewhat, amending her original suggestion, "That is, if you're into that sort of thing, hehe..."
Closer to the ground, Sprinkle could hardly contain her own excitement at the sight of another naturally spherical Pokémon, especially when Azure rolled forward to playfully tap her. "Jigglypuff~!" she exclaimed with approval, imitating her new Spheal friend by curling up into herself and pushing her body into a slow, vertical spin until the curly puff of fur on her forehead tapped lovingly against her blue counterpart.
Meanwhile, Eggsy the Togepi carefully observed the impish Señor Claws as any newborn baby might, watching as the Meowth bopped a paw against his speckled eggshell before jumping back a ways. Was it wanting to play?
The precocious wiggle of its hind end was more than enough confirmation for him. "Prrriiii!" Eggsy squeaked happily, the fleshy spikes atop his little head twitching in kind as he tried skipping forward to chase after the scamp of a cat. He was gonna get a super-duper-special-awesome hug, like it or not!
Jeremiah seemed pleased with the turnout. "I like to think my Pokémon good judges of character, and they seem to agree that you have raised fine Pokémon." Hearing this brought Felicity overwhelming joy, since it was always a sign of approval when another Trainer gave her Pokémon compliments.
"Awww, thank you so much, you cutie patooties~!" Felicity expresses her gratitude to Jeremiah's trusted companions with nothing less than an effervescent grin stretched ear to ear. She turned back to the rich boy, "I'm really happy to hear that! Pokémon can tell when someone's a good person, and I've never seen 'em get along with others so fast!" Even Breadstick was a lot more relaxed than usual, and that's saying something!

"A done deal indeed." He resisted the urge to hold his hand out to shake, sealing the deal. The realization that some of what he had been taught was considered proper behaviour was not always the right behaviour had started to come to form in his mind. Simply from meeting someone with such a different style of life than him. Truly, this trip was beginning to pay dividends already, and he hadn't even begun his actual reason of coming here.
At the mention of the Gym, a very serious look appeared on Jeremiah's face. Indeed, that was one of the main reasons he was heading to Petalburg. He nodded, a single self assured tilt of the head. "Yes, that was my intention. I intend to work my way up to becoming the champion here. It will be hard, but what would be the point if that were not the case."
Azure started barking with joy, her two stubby fins clapping together after her greeting was both received and then returned in kind. Senor Claws had let Eggsy catch it in a hug, and was using the spikes on the Togepis head for a much needed scratch on the chin. Monsieur Whiskers basked in the sun, the light reflecting of the calm, pristine water, making the Magikarp seem to glow with radiance.
Jeremiah looked around, taking this all in, the beautiful scenery and the peaceful atmosphere, the way it seemed to foster joy and friendship among those around. "You are very lucky to live in such a beautiful place. We do not have many peaceful areas like this where I am from."

tag notes --- | Normally scatterbrained, Felicity instantly came to attention the moment Jeremiah went out of his way to confirm her earlier suggestion as the very reason he was moving westward. "Yes, that was my intention. I intend to work my way up to becoming the Champion here. It will be hard, but what would be the point if that were not the case." Although it should never have come as any surprise to the youngster, to hear it for herself was almost reassuring, in a really weird way.
"That's awesome! You've got my support all the way!" Felicity cheered for Jeremiah, thrusting her fist into the air with a spirited pose while Breadstick the Slowpoke casually dangled behind her other arm like a stuffed rag doll, totally unfazed by the abundance of extra movement. In fact, it almost looked like he was in on the encouragement, in his own sleepy sort of way.
Truth be told, hearing about another Trainer's ambitions—to see them unfold before her very eyes—brought genuine happiness to Felicity. This was the kind of passion that motivated her to go on a Pokémon journey in the first place. Sure, Jeremiah sported the millionaire look and had the vocabulary of a college-level dictionary, but the simple town girl knew potential when she saw it; Felicity could see it in his eyes, right then and there. He had something to prove.
Fortunately, her Pokémon had nothing but positive energy to share with Jeremiah's squad of friends, as well. Sprinkle hopped up and down in tandem with Azure's clapping, utterly ecstatic to have a new 'marble friend'. Eggsy, in a similar vein, ferociously pressed his face into Señor Claws' fur and rubbed into it with nothing less than infantile delight, his spiky head providing the Meowth with a much needed chin-scratching.
"You are very lucky to live in such a beautiful place. We do not have many peaceful areas like this where I am from." Felicity inquisitively cocked her head to the side, thankful that Jeremiah was appreciative of the natural tranquility Oldale Town provided but curious to know more about his own home regardless. "Whaddaya mean? Sure, Hoenn's totally awesome sauce, but this Unova place sounds like a real Hoothoot!" Wordplay was Felicity's second favorite form of play, next to interacting with her Pokémon.

tag notes | Barely knowing anything about him, this girl instantly threw her support behind him. Whether she was passionate about battling, the kind of person that supported anyone, or simply a very supportive person, who wanted others to succeed, he accepted her support. And that of her Slowpoke too, dangling cheerily from her arm. He was aware that he wasn't a particularly good battler at this stage, and any help, whether practical or moral, would be greatly appreciated.
As enjoyable as it was to see his pokemon relaxing with their newfound friends, he would have to move on eventually. "The support is very much appreciated." He considered her next words carefully. From his perspective it was hard to see what she meant. From how he saw it, the city was busy, large, messy, and what he grew up with. It wasn't anything special, it just was what it was. But to someone who grew up in a place like Hoenn, he could see what would be so entrancing about it.
"Unova, and Castelia specifically, is large. From what I understand of Hoenn, you don't really have anything that can compare. Towers that reach up to the sky, within cities that never sleep. There is always activity, always noise, always something going on. The city is in a constant state of activity, but because of that, you always feel like you have to as well. It can be hard to relax when everything around you is a constant flow." He paused, looking around at the tranquility of the area he was in now. "From my perspective, at the very least, a place like this is much more amazing. You live with nature here, while at home, we subjugated it."
With that, however, it was time for him to leave. He had a gym to challenge, and win or lose, his journey to the championship must begin with a single step. "It was a pleasure to meet you and your pokemon Miss Felicity. But it is time that I moved on." He returned his pokemon to the pokeballs after letting them say farewell. "Hopefully our paths cross again, but until then, farewell." With that he turned, heading towards Petalburg city, and proceeded towards Petalburg Woods.

tag notes Thread formally finished! It can be hard to relax when everything around you is a constant flow."
Some of those words sounded pretty fancy, what with the way Jeremiah let them roll off his tongue so effortlessly, but Felicity's imagination helped her to fill in the blanks, drawing an expectant smile on her face.
He was right: Hoenn really didn't have anything like super-tall towers or huge crowds of people in the streets. Heck, even cities like Lilycove or Slateport had some measure of squeezing space! She couldn't possibly begin to understand where one might start out in a region like Unova.
But it all sounded too exciting, anyway! Felicity kept a mental note of Jeremiah's observations, reminding herself to beg Dad and Mom for a vacation to Castelia City when she got back home.
"From my perspective, at the very least, a place like this is much more amazing. You live with nature here, while at home, we subjugated it."
"I dunno what 'suh-juh-gated' means, but if you think about it, everybody lives with nature!" Felicity bounced in place, causing Breadstick the Slowpoke to jiggle in her arms. "I mean, there's Pokémon everywhere! Not to mention all the fun stuff that they do with people! That's gotta count for something, right?" There was simply too many things for her to formulate an effective list over, but such was the norm for a teenager who had more energy than she knew what to do with.
Alas, all good things must, indeed, come to an end at some point, a fact Jeremiah politely directed Felicity's attention towards. Whatever disappointment she felt then, vanished just as swiftly, "Slowkey pokey! It was fun talking to you, Mister Jeremiah!" The youngster turned to her Pokémon and gave them an affirmative nod, as if to convey that they would all meet again. "Say bye, everybody!" Eggsy and Sprinkle chipped in with perfect unison, whereas Breadstick continued to snooze away. "Best of luck at the Gym! Kick every last butt in there!" Felicity unleashes a playful side kick as if she were a karate student snapping a wooden block in two, the dopey Pokémon in her grasp flopping around in tow.
Just like that, Jeremiah retrieved his own Pokémon and parted ways to venture off in the direction of Petalburg City. As much as Felicity wanted to tag along and play the role of unofficial cheerleader, it was time for her to go back home. And they were having so much fun, too!
Satisfied with the outcome all the same, Felicity turns around and faces the clearing that paved a way to Oldale Town. "C'mon, everyone! Let's go see if Mom's done making her cake!" Happily, her Pokémon follow behind in hot pursuit, making sure to stick real close to their Trainer so as to not get separated, like that one time in Fallarbor Town. It took hours to get Eggsy's shell clean from all the soot!
