[attr="class","app_bio"]Kaname was raised as underprivileged kid surrounded by the fancy sciences of Mossdeep. His parents paid much more attention to keeping their fragile jobs than to their kid, who was constantly straining his neck at things out of reach. The bombastic battles of the Mossdeep gym, and the high-reaching ambition of the city's scientists all taunted him incessantly throughout his childhood. As a child, Rote was quickly drawn to the emerging gang conflicts of Hoenn, where the only glamour for children of the gutter persisted. [break][break]



In the turmoil of many gangs and Teams, Rote joined with Team Din, a scientifically minded group of criminals and ex-cons. Much of their research was in trying to harness the power of alien pokémon, finding them, capturing them and riding the coattails of the space center's science through force. Rote was a small piece of that puzzle, and thus went mostly unnoticed when the conflict between Teams Magma and Aqua wiped from Hoenn all the other Teams on the region. In that destruction, Rote fled Mossdeep and the fallout from Team Din's annihilation.[break][break]


His lives of criminality and poverty mostly escaped, Rote strikes out with a single pokémon and some meager resources, unsure of his direction in life. All he truly possesses is that pain and hurt of being so much lower than the people of Mossdeep who held so much more than he did. He's determined to survive in the world of pokémon, and see about righting some of the wrongs he sees.
